Museology, or museum studies (also known in older sources as museography), is the study of museums, museum curation, and how museums developed into their institutional role in education through social and political forces.
Museum technicians provide support to curators, archivists and other museum staff members. A bachelor's degree is typically required for this profession, though some employers only require prior museum experience or training in museum preservation and display. Students can gain this experience by participating in internships or volunteering at museums.
Museum designers are responsible for the conceptualization and completion of museum exhibits. As part of their jobs, they might perform research to select materials for displays. They also might utilize thematically appropriate visual effects for exhibits. Museum designers typically hold at least a bachelor's degree in art history or a related area, and many professionals hold a master's degree.Change Language
