Doctorate Degree in education
Education is the process of facilitating learning, or the acquisition of knowledge, skills, values, beliefs, and habits. Educational methods include storytelling, discussion, teaching, training, and directed research. Education frequently takes place under the guidance of educators, but learners may also educate themselves. Education can take place in formal or informal settings and any experience that has a formative effect on the way one thinks, feels, or acts may be considered educational. The methodology of teaching is called pedagogy.
The completion of a bachelor's degree is necessary for most careers in education. A license or certificate is also required for many professions in the field. Master's and doctoral degrees qualify individuals for supervisory and advanced level positions. Specializations in curriculum development, administration, special education and other areas are offered. Teachers also usually earn credentials or concentrations in the subject matter that they teach, such as science, history or math. Online programs in education are available for remote learning.
Architecture teachers are responsible for educating postsecondary students on the basic principles and fundamentals of architecture, including architectural design concepts and the history of the field. Architecture teachers create lesson plans, deliver lectures and evaluate the work of students in a classroom setting. Teachers are required to keep office hours for students, in order to advise them and help them with any problems in class. Some architecture teachers conduct research in this field and publish any findings in journals or books. Most architecture teachers are expected to keep current on trends and methodology, even if they do not design themselves.
Ancient history teachers are subject-specialized instructors who normally teach grades 7-12. They act as learning facilitators, plan presentations and tailor individualized and small-group instruction to help students grasp historical concepts. In addition, ancient history teachers also evaluate student performance, give grades and meet with parents and teachers. Specific job duties include the preparation of overall curriculum and daily lessons, the instruction of students in ancient history of regions around the world, communication with parents on students' progress and administration of exams.
